Our district vision drives our direction and future: creating a premier learning environment where all students can reach their highest potential!  To that end, the Smithville Board of Education has established priorities that guide our efforts and work.  The Missouri School Boards Association recognized our Board of Education as a 2009 Outstanding Board of Education Finalist.  The outstanding leadership of our award-winning Board ensures high expectations in everything we do, structure in everything we plan, excellent financial stewardship and a significant emphasis on student academic achievement.

 

Annual enrollment increases continue to average approximately 100 students, and we now employ over 240 certified and classified staff members. The high expectations of our Board, staff, parents, citizens and our students themselves result in numerous awards in academics, achievements in athletics and accolades in activities for our graduating students.  Our two elementary schools, middle school and comprehensive high school routinely demonstrate the very best in a quality education. With over 92% of seniors graduating on time, an average ACT score of 22.4, and thousands of earned college credit hours, the Smithville School District sets itself apart as one of the premier K-12 public schools in Missouri.
